20171006拔除苦難大道直 Creating a Broad Bodhisattva Path to Alleviate Suffering

I am here to volunteer just the way you all come out here to do the same for us. You know I think I have it in my heart to help you out and I am here to translate. I speak Spanish

It was separated more in residence and we try to make sure everybody gets the same. Anybody would come and try not take but try to receive things. If you focus on one zip code, it will work perfectly. You can easily make it work for the whole communities.

Giving to us, now we have somebody to give to. That’s why I put mine in. This is like God, it’s a blessing.

What are you going to do with penny? I am going to put in this one.

Actually we don’t have a home anymore; we live with friends right now. They are helping out, we are helping out, we helping out everybody. Because they are in the same situation we’ll do anything and everything we can to help as many as people possible.

Our world is truly wondrous, especially when an individual’s innate Buddha nature is brought forth. Everyone one of us is using our innate potential. As long as the love in our heart is awakened, we can realize our potential and live our life to the fullest every moment. It is truly touching.

We see what’s happening around the world, and many events make us heavyhearted. Take India for example, it is a country full of natural scenery. Unfortunately, many scenic places are now filled with piles of trash, which emit an unpleasant smell.

To me this is the most shocking place I have ever been to really.  Really it’s horrible.  Especially if you are from Germany which is a very clean country, it is even worse to see how all this trash lands in the ocean.  It makes me really sad

Stakeholders are going to have to come forward.  This includes citizens, the government, the NGOs, the environmentalists, the UN

Whether it is larger places like Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai or smaller places the key is getting citizens involved.  The citizen has to realize this is my waste.  Nobody is going to take care of it but me.

It is humans who create this trash, but humans can also purify people’s hearts. We must quickly promote environmental protection, have the same awareness, consensus and act together, otherwise, there will only be more trash and more people in suffering. There will be more people depending on the trash to make a living.

This creates a vicious cycle. We’re particularly worried about disasters. With so much trash and the extreme climate now, the trash problem would worsen should major floods occur. This year, India, Bangladesh and Nepal already experienced severe floods that lasted a long period of time.

Seeing piles of trash on footage, we worry that, should a heavy rain occurs, it will result in a severe disaster. So, people should quickly solve this problem. People should not make a living from trash or live among trash. People should be more active in stopping trash from piling up.

India has a population of 1.3 billion. People there should awaken to this problem and have the same consensus to take collective action. They should cherish the things they have and not waste things. This is the only way to solve the problem. All in all, the solution comes down to bringing awareness to people. People can do good deeds. They can apply the Dharma to help and alleviate people’s suffering because life is impermanent. Life follows the law of nature. We do not know how long our life is, but we can broaden its scope.

Life is like a path. The ignorance in our heart is like weeds and shrubs on the path which obscure our vision making us lost and not able to see what lies ahead. Once we accept life principles and know the right direction, we can clear away the weeds on the path and create the path further ourselves. So, bodhisattvas need to create the path for themselves.

The sutra shows us the principles and points us to the right path. The Buddha came to the world and gave people a clear life direction and created a path for people. But, it takes people after him to continually making efforts diligently and creates the path further. So, reading or chanting sutras only shows us the direction. We have to understand the principle in the sutras and put it into action. This is how we create the path.

In emulating the Buddha and understanding principles, we must know that the lives of all living beings are interconnected. We must understand the greater meaning of life, which is to love all living being. Loving oneself is take good care of oneself. We must not go astray. We must head in the right direction to give of ourselves. This is how we love ourselves. Do not let impurities taint our heart.

With the right direction in mind, we create the path. Do not make the path off course. If we deviate at the beginning even slightly we’ll end up far away from the path. Therefore, we should remind ourselves to be vigilant and mindful every day to take care of our conduct and refrain from wrongdoings.

We have to nurture our wisdom-life. That is to love ourselves. We have to truly walk on the Bodhisattva Path by practicing the Six Paramitas. Serving people is our spiritual practice. Through helping people, we learn more about suffering in the world. Afflictions lead to bodhi enlightenment. We may encounter afflictions when serving amongst people. Yet, in the midst of it, we come to realize the purpose of life. We should go beyond ourselves because life is impermanent and we don’t know what will happen to us next. So, we should make good use of our life.
